Not all snow crystals look like the commonly photographed 6-sided stars/flowers. A great deal of snow falls in other forms. Pictured here are 6-sided columns. These little guys look like little long granules. There are many different forms that snow can fall as, including bullets, needles, plates and more.

This photo was highlighted on the Anchorage, Alaska KTUU channel 2 news weather segment today (1/3/07) - a day where we broke a single day snowfall record for January.
